How to open a PowerPoint presentation without powerpoint

If you plan to run a presentation on a computer that does not have Microsoft PowerPoint installed or is running an older version of PowerPoint, the best way is designing a Self-running PowerPoint presentation.

1. Open the presentation you want to package.

2. If you want to copy your packaged presentation to a CD insert the blank/empty CD /floppy disk to the disk drive.

3. On the File menu, click Package for CD (Older version click Pack and Go.)

4. After select appropriate options ,

* Click on "Copy to folder" to copy the presentation package to a folder

* Click on "Copy to CD" to copy the presentation to a CD

5. Click on "Close" when finished

You can use PowerPoint Viewer to run a PowerPoint presentation that does not have Microsoft PowerPoint installed.The Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer also lets you view full-featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions.

By installing the Compatibility Pack in addition to Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003, you will be able to open, edit, and save files using the file formats new to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007. The Compatibility Pack can also be used in conjunction with the Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003, Excel Viewer 2003, and PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to view files saved in these new formats.

If you successfully download and install FileFormatConverters.exe (Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack) ,it will be shown in Add or Remove program in Control Panel. Now you can be open Office 2007 files within Office 2003.
