What is the best way to clean dirty motherboard? Can I wash a Motherboard ?

Answer :

Even it could be crazy , the simple answers is you can even wash your motherboard to clean but only if it's really necessary.Warning: We are not recommended to wash your motherboard if you are not a person with good computer hardware knowledge. Becasue there are proper way to do this (Watch the video given below). A computer motherboard is a very complex electronic device with very tiny electronic components . If you are damage those components the motherboard will not work again.

Only we are going to wash a motherboard if it is extremely dusty,dirty and so old.If you accidentally spilt a cup of coffee/tea or any liquid on the motherboard then also you can try this.

Washing Motherboards is not so unusual for professional hardware technicians. They actually know by experinces it must wash the motherboard in some occasions.Keep in mind the reason for washing motherboard is not to 'fix' it but to clean. You never fix a faulty motherboard by washing , but if the motherboard not worked casue of those dirty ,dusty substances on the motherboard ,surely it will be work again.

  • Safely remove all components fixed on the motherboard. (Cooling Fans,Processor,RAM,CMOS battery,VGA card,Sound Card,Modem,Other PCI card or any other ..)
  • Spray the Motherboard with a cleaning solution. ( Use soft one ,don't use bleaching level hard cleaners.)
  • Scrub with a soft brush. Do not scrub hardly , be patience and do it smoothly.
  • Rinse under water.
  • Blow excess water off with an air blower.
  • Finish drying with a hair dryer.
  • Keep at least 24 hours on edge in a dry place.
  • That's all now you can test your Motherboard ,once you're sure it's dry..
